Synopsis

In Hero, it's the height of China's Warring States period, two thousand years ago. For years, seven kingdoms, Qin,
Zhao, Han, Wei, Yan, Chu and Qi, have fought ruthlessly for supremacy with the Kingdom of Qin being the most determined of
all, making its king, Qin Shi Huangdi (Chen Daoming), China's first Emperor. To keep this from happening, assassins are sent from throughout
the other six states to kill him. The most feared are Broken Sword (Tony Leung), Flying Snow (Maggie Cheung) and Sky (Donnie
Yen), with Moon (Zhang Ziyi) being Sword's maid. To anyone who defeats these assassins, the King of Qin promises great
power, mountains of gold and a private audience. Ten years passes before Nameless (Jet Li), a law enforcement officer, comes
to the palace to claim the prize. Sitting only paces from the King, Nameless tells his extraordinary tale. But once done,
the King tells Nameless a different story of how he came to be there. Somewhere between them is an earth-shattering tale of
love, honor and duty. A story that moves beyond the reaches of history. A story about what it means to be a hero.
