As was reported in Very Early
The Road Home Pictures, the pictures posted of Zhang Ziyi and Zhang Yimou
at a very early
The Road Home function in China, were reasoned correctly not to be from the
Hundred Flowers and the Golden Rooster Awards, held in the city of Nanning in the South China
on Tuesday, Nov 21, 2000. But instead are from a special The Road Home screening for
students in Beijing
on September 24, 1999.
The first is of Ziyi
speaking to the audience of students.
The second is of Ziyi signing autographs for the students outside of the screening
hall. The third is a solo
picture of Ziyi on stage. The fourth
is of Zhang Yimou, director of The Road Home, and Ziyi on stage.
The fifth is of Zhang
Yimou, Ziyi, a Professor Di, his son and a presently unidentified woman.
Special screenings for The Road Home were held often in Beijing, and while Ziyi was also
filming Crouching Tiger,
Hidden Dragon. Whenever not required to shoot a scene for Crouching Tiger, Ziyi
would join Zhang Yimou at such special screenings to help promote the film. The Road Home
was especially liked by the Chinese government because of the film's emphasis on education. They
would use these screenings of the film to promote school education, and still do.
Thanks to joy for the news update.
