Zhang Ziyi Ranked #2 On Forbes China Celebrity List
    February 10, 2004

    Forbes China

    Forbes China
February 2004 Issue of Forbes China

Zhang Ziyi ranked #2 on the first ever Forbes China Celebrity List, released today by Forbes China, the Chinese-language edition of Forbes magazine. Chinese sports hero and Houston Rockets star Yao Ming, who regularly towers over NBA competitors on the basketball court, ranked #1.

The list surveyed the income and popularity of leaders in film, sports, media, music and publishing. Listees were born and raised in mainland China; celebrities from Hong Kong and Taiwan weren't included. The China list is modeled on Forbes' annual Celebrity 100 list.

Yao led the way as the #1 Chinese celebrity with the second-highest 2003 income, following Hollywood star Jet Li who ranked #1 in income. Though income was the biggest single factor in compiling the list of 100 mainland Chinese celebrities -- which tracks the actual transfer of fame into fortune over the past year -- media coverage and Web hits within China also figured prominently, leading Zhang Ziyi to rank #2 overall.

Forbes China Top 10 of 100 Mainland Chinese Celebrities:

    Name / Profession / Pre-tax income in 2003 (US$ Million)

    1. Yao Ming / basketball player / 14.49
    2. Zhang Ziyi / film actress / 3.14
    3. Zhao Wei / TV/film actress/singer / 2.29
    4. Faye Wong / singer/actress / 3.38
    5. Gong Li / film actress / 3.38
    6. Zhang Yimou / film director / 2.17
    7. Zhou Xun / actress/singer / 1.45
    8. Leon Lai / singer/actor / 7.97
    9. Sun Nan / singer / 2.90
    10. Jet Li / actor / 16.91

Happy 25th Birthday to Zhang Ziyi!
    February 09, 2004

    Happy Birthday, Ziyi!
    Happy Birthday to Ziyi,
    Happy Birthday to Ziyi!

We at Zhang Ziyi CSC and Ziyi fans worldwide would like to wish Zhang Ziyi a VERY HAPPY 25th BIRTHDAY!!!

Because of the time difference between where this report is being made from in the United States and where Zhang Ziyi lives in China, she's already been enjoying a very special and active birthday today. Part of her activities included attending the official unveiling of her new, one and only, authorized website, HelloZiyi, a joint present from her manager and older brother.

The website unveiling was a very large media event, hosted by Sina, attended by over 200 representatives of the media and broadcast worldwide via live chat. Great program! Sina also took the opportunity to host a birthday celebration for Ziyi. Open being presented with a huge birthday cake and while the entire audience present sang "Happy Birthday" (in English!), the very humble Zhang Ziyi was emotionally brought to tears.

As part of our ongoing celebration of Ziyi's 25th birthday, and by special request directly from Beijing, China (Yes! It's true!), the following poem by Rain is being reposted as an encore presentation: Good Morning, Zhao Di

Zhu Ni Sheng Ri Kuai Le, Zhang Ziyi. :)

HelloZiyi, The Official Zhang Ziyi Website, Opens Tomorrow!
    February 08, 2004

    HelloZiyi

HelloZiyi, Zhang Ziyi's one and only authorized website, officially opens tomorrow, February 9, 2004, her 25th birthday, at 2PM Beijing time! The website, which will provide an excellent avenue by which Ziyi can communicate more intimately and directly with her fans, will be presented to her as a joint birthday present by her manager, Ling, and brother, Zinan.

Ziyi's website, a beautifully designed site hosted by and created in collaboration with Sina, will have various features of interest to Zhang Ziyi fans, including the latest news, never before seen and rare pictures, wallpaper, video clips, message board, live chat, extras, like mobile phone downloads, and much, much more!

HelloZiyi, planned to be truly international, will ultimately accommodate Ziyi's growing number of fans worldwide. At present, though, the site is only in Chinese. But English links will be added soon. Also, since the site is completely new, there are bound to be a number of "snafus," initially. So, I was asked to "please tell everyone to be forgiving" while problems, if any, are ironed out.

Please, visit and browse around Zhang Ziyi's new website!

    Happy Birthday, Ziyi. :)
